Ask sir Bertz.... dami sa Binondo area sir 4. You'll have to go the extra mile but its worth it! -Grimm binondo area has lots of delicious and affordable places to eat but i don't recommend them for valentine dates mainly because there are lots of noisy chinese people eating there all the time and if you're unlucky, you'll get to spend valentine's with old chinese folks at the restos hahaha. we usually dine in gloria maris (GB2) for occasions. some people get the notion that it's expensive there but you just have to know what to order to make it elegant yet not so hard on the wallet. though i guess it's not a very romantic place for a date hehehe. you may want to try gumbo too since the servings there are hefty yet not as expensive as friday's, italianni's or burgoo... though you might get the "nakakaumay" feel halfway.. you just need to order varieties and not entries that might taste the same. it's a fun place to go to for a date. i suggest you go try out some restos (or if you already ahve one in mind) over this weekend to get a feel of the place and the food you can order. of course, you may want to take your barkada along with you to share and lighten the load (and get to taste more varieties) before the big day. mutual naman yan e.. pareho kayong makakakain ng masarap at affordable at baka magkita pa kayo dun sa valentine's hahaha. serendra and the fort area have wide selections of restos... GH has some good places to eat at the promenade too.. malayo na masyado pag trinoma in your case, boss 4... don't go for buffets (even hotel buffets) coz your date may get the notion that you'd rather spend a fix amount on the food you order than try out varieties with no budget concerns.. of course, you'll have to know where to dine. as such, my choices would be (in order of preference and considering price and food quality) 1. Omakase (a time out from jap fastfood and teriyaki boy) 2. John and Yoko (obvious na mahilig ako sa japanese) 3. Conti's (for some pasta and lots of cakes and pastries) 4. Grappa's (excellent service) 5. Gumbo - continental/american (hefty serving but not so hard on the budget) 6. CIBO (GB5) - mas iba lang sa ambiance ng ibang CIBO haha yan lang so far ang masuggest ko... ngayon ko lang naisip... mahirap magdate sa chinese resto.. failed me once hahaha. i dated a girl and her aunt in omakase hahaha. bumenta naman ako sa tita kaya ayos lang.

i spent an afternoon lunch with friends sa binondo once. the noise there was enough to make me look sour pa naman with an "oh god i wanna get out of here as soon as i can" expression on my face. irritated me because i was with someone i liked in the group and i couldn't enjoy time with her.
