The TF Movie Deluxe Class Autobot Jazz (G1 repaint) was one of the two recolored TF movie toys released as Target Store Exclusives. Same packaging as with the silver version, only with recolored box artwork of the figure and the "ONLY AT TARGET" sticker.
"During the long process of being rebuilt by AUTOBOT RATCHET, there was a lot of time to think. AUTOBOT JAZZ digs his Earth vehicle form, but the silver paint job got scratched too easily, and dust stuck to it like cyberflies on old oil. Also, it wasn't nearly eye-catching enough. Just because he's supposed to be in disguise doesn't mean he can't be noticed. With help from BUMBLEBEE and AUTOBOT RATCHET, he picked this color scheme as the one most likely to get him appreciative looks from all the humans he passes on the freeway"(box quote).
Vehicle mode: PONTIAC SOLSTICE GXP
I am not really that aware of the car models and color orientations that G1 TFs have taken into form, but this recolor truly replicates the G1 version. A delight for G1 fans I say. Also, I have noticed that the translucent blue windows are much lighter than the silver's, allowing one to further see the insides of the vehicle.
By the way, the weapon which comes along with it cannot be hidden anywhere in the vehicle. But it can be connected on the spoiler which can be manually moved a lil up and down to aim the weapon. Pull outward the barrel to extend the weapon.
Connected to the vehicle..
GOOD:
The sculpt of the car is reminiscent of the Porche G1 Jazz, which is quite cool for old school TF fans. If you're into collecting those "movie-accurate color characters", skip this one. But for me, the recolor worked well here. A lot more eye catching than the silver version.
BAD:
Rear wheels are a lil loosely connected. This one doesn't have the back window. The weapon cannot be hidden anywhere inside the car. And maybe, sold a lil expensive(though I haven't checked out the "local pricing" for this one).
OVERALL RATE: Not bad! 4 of 5!
Stay tuned!
