I saw a reference for the computations. (Somehow the same case as mine)
Type: Basic Rate Example: 15kPhp Item / 2k Shipping Category: Luxury-->(Ring)
Basic Rate 15,000 ---amount of the item +2,000 ---shipping cost --------- 17,000 ---dutiable value x 0.15 ---tariff rate --------- 2,550 ---customs duty
VAT: 17,000 ---dutiable value 2,550 ---customs duty 2,000 ---brokerage fee 265 ---documentary stamp + 250 ---import processing fee (IPF) --------- 22,065 x 0.12 --------- 2,650 ---VAT
Summary: 2,550 ---customs duty 2,650 ---VAT + 250 ---IPF --------- 5,450 ---TOTAL*

Wow, that's the price of 1 limited kit! Good luck, just hope and pray that you wont meet crocs when you claim your package...hehe @ LZ: Thats impossible! They work there! Hehehe ;D WARNING: Dont assume they're stoopids. Just because we know the value of the toy and they do not! The fact that it was sent via EMS means it has value and the receiver and sender was willing to pay a higher cost than the usual fee just to get it there. Based on my experience.... One of them (lady assesors or inspectors) asked this frickin question loudly infront of the other assessors... Naniniwala ba kayo na 2.5k lang daw tong laruan na to? My jaw almost dropped right there! Hehehe ;D Just stay focused on the game! Dont think! Use your instinct! Pag nagpapahiwatig na nang deal or no deal... bulungan mo na! Magkano short time hot momma! Nyahaha ;D -Grimm P.S. Bring 3k up just to be safe..... Para may pamasahe ka pa! Tapos practice those teary-eyed looks na parang puss-in-boots ka! Hehehe ;D

No... better put it this way... "tinubos" mo yung package mo sa P.O. or EMS. Its already there pag may notice ka na from them. All you have to do is pick em up!
Between sellers and buyers... its usually declared as a "gift" when shipped out para walang sabit sa P.O. when it comes to retrieving the item! But if the seller declared its true value/price.... thats where the problem starts.

If all else fails... insist that its a gift and that your friend/cousin or whoever sent it just declared a certain value so that person handling the parcel will take care of it.
OT: so Pats has already gotten his box of gold nuggets! ;D
