Time to write up on the rest of my toy experiences in Japan. No camera photos on some of them. I was too busy looking at toys. Will use reference photos from other sites if I can. My first afternoon in Tokyo was spent in Harajuku, a place more familiar with fashionistas. However, there is a toy store there called Kiddyland:It's much like a typical Toy Kingdom, 7 tightly packed floors sorted by department. The Zoids rack was at the B1F or basement, which was the boys' toys section. Only Rebirth Century, Graphics and Anime Special Editions were available. Pricing for the items was SRP so did not get anything. After a couple of days of tours, the only "toy" places I saw in Kyoto were a very small model toyshop specializing in Tomix trains, and an appliance shop called Joshin Denki, which had a hobby section. Gundams primarily were the items sold, but there were a few HMMs sold for SRP as well. The thing that caught my eye at this place was that SOC Daimos and 1st edition Voltes V were on the mark down(!) area at 5k apiece. When I got back to Tokyo, the first stop of my toy tour was Yamashiroya toy store in Ueno: Same as Kiddyland, the place is 7 floors categorized into different departments. I saw some HMMs for the Zoids but nothing from the RCZ line. Up next was Nakano Broadway: This place had some specialty toy stores much like what you'd see in GH. However, the main areas of the mall are filled with scattered departments of Mandarake, a company specializing in collectibles. They actually act as a pawn shop, where some one can have their items appraised and they will buy it. After that it gets sorted to one of their stores. You want video games, cosplay items, mangas, they have it. Of course, they also have Zoids. And considering the foreign exchange, they had some very cheap items, as well as absurd ones. Sample items & prices:Strum Tyrann - roughly 7k pesos Shield Liger MK-II - 1.6k Evoflyer - 5k (!)Liger Blue Souga - 5k Iron Kong MK-II - 7k There were other NJRs but none of significance. I'll finish up with my Akihabara experience tomorrow.

Nakano Broadway seems to be an interesting place to me... a pawnshop for toy items sounds cool. Do they have glass display cabs for rent to other sellers? wherein they showcase some of their items for sale?

Nakano Broadway seems to be an interesting place to me... a pawnshop for toy items sounds cool. Do they have glass display cabs for rent to other sellers? wherein they showcase some of their items for sale? I'll answer that as I go through my Akiba experience now. Finally, I'll discuss my trip to the center of all Japan toys: Akihabara aka otaku paradise. Here's a photo I took once I got out of the station: My friend was correct in saying that you cannot tour this place in one day. Each toy store is situated in a building with around 4-5 floors, and there are about 9-10 of these in Akiba. Not to mention the other stuff that you can get here: video games, electronics, DVDs (clean and the unclean). I only spent an afternoon and I went back to the hotel at closing time, but with a feeling that I've only explored about half the area. As Cloud was asking, yes, they had the little "apartments" for rent which was actually a glass case where you can sell your goods as consignment. Nakano Broadway had a few, but in Akiba its the norm. It gets very confusing as the displays are not categorized, so you might be looking at a TF seller in one case and it is beside a gasha seller. One store I was fond of was the Kotobukiya one near the train station. As one might expect in the Kotbukiya store, HMMs! Here's the store stock: HMM CPs Other Zoids were sold around the area: - Plenty of limiteds, not just recent like the Dark Zoids but also the gray box ones or the YKs. - I think I saw around 4-5 Strum Tyranns for sale, which was very surprising considering its high status. Again, around 7k pesos. - NJR is very expensive. An NJR LZ Phoenix and the Gairyuki were at 2k each. - A built OJR Gilvy was also being sold for 30k, but of course, pass muna ako. Hehe. - Evo-drive Zoids were on complete mark down. I saw a whole set of the 4 for only 3.5k. And one thing I can be optimistic about our toy line's popularity was the number of Zoiders I saw. At almost every consignment or display area I went to, there was at least one other collector browsing thru the wares. Looks like Zoids still have fans! Mabuhay ang toy line naten!
