i'll give you a 5 second head start.
Lockdown. in human terms, is a guy who's alliance lies with whoever has the cash on hand.
in this case it's the decepticons. he works most frequently with them on occasion and they always pay real good. he's a bot of simple needs, just some upgrades here and there, and some real challenging prey to hunt. his body is a patchwork of random parts and bits, and this makes him very much capable of just about everything. what makes him endearing for me is the history he has with some of Optimus Prime's team members, particularly Ratchet and Prowl.
His Alt-mode is that of a very intimidating Muscle Car (most likely a corvette) with an exposed engine block. it is in this mode where i like him the best because it's just something i would want to drive. just look how spiky the thing is! in robot mode though...
he's tall. even taller than some voyagers and some say even ultras.
THAT's how i like my cons'. but his transformation is troublesome at times, with thigh ball joints and swivels popping out of place when being transformed. it's really quite annoying. but since this is one of the first series of lockdowns, i can only assume further waves of the same toy have fixed this problem. he has very limited leg articulation because of this and he looks so stiff whenever i try to pose him dynamically. and his patchwork assymetrical look that he has on the show all but disappears on his toy. it seems it's very difficult to pull out or emphasize without resorting to painting and detailing the toy yourself. total suckage... but there is one thing about him i do like very much:
ARRRRR......
hook hands are always good. hook hands that have accessories that can go on other toys, even cooler! his engine block converts into a EMP disruptor that i explained in my ratchet review is compatible with the deluxe ratchet toy. i forgive you hasbro.
overall:
Lockdown's the first animated toy i ever got my hands on, and i got him earlier than most people here. he is one of my favorite decepticons but this toy dissapoints in some ways. from articulation to quality control, it's only my bias towards this character as a fave that i do not give him a flat five. though again i stress that he is an early sample and maybe in later productions this may not be the case.
6.5 out of 10.
parting shots:
finders keepers...
